PK Sound Launches T8 Robotic Line Source System to the World

PK Sound officially launched the T8 sub-compact robotic line source system with a global online event on January 4, 2024, bringing the acoustic and operational advantages of its patented multi-axis robotic coverage control to a vastly wider range of users and applications.

The launch marked a pivotal expansion of the robotic line source concept pioneered in the Trinity and T10 systems. Where those large-format platforms serve arena and festival scales, T8 packages the same remote, real-time mechanical control of vertical and horizontal coverage in a sub-compact, dual-8” format suited to touring and rental, performance installations, theatre, worship, corporate events, and beyond.

Each T8 module delivers vertical coverage adjustments at an unmatched 0.1-degree resolution and more than 40 symmetric and asymmetric horizontal settings from 60 to 120 degrees – all driven by PK .dynamics software, which unites simulation, control, and monitoring in a single workflow. The companion T18 intelligent subwoofer completes the system.

Anticipation had been building since a preview at the LDI show in Las Vegas the previous month, where the unnamed system turned heads on the ACT Entertainment stand.

Following the online premiere, PK and North American distributor ACT Entertainment took T8 straight to the industry's biggest stages: a NAMM 2024 premiere featuring an immersive 360-degree projection-based demo experience, followed by demonstrations at Integrated Systems Europe in Barcelona and a North American demo tour spanning Dallas, Los Angeles, St. Louis, Las Vegas, and Nashville.

The T8 would go on to collect industry honours throughout its first year – including CUE 2024's Most Innovative Technology award and rAVe's Best New Live Event Speakers at InfoComm 2024 – while seeding a new generation of partner investments across North America and Europe.
